Six-foot-three center Jamila Garrett scored a game-high 15 points on Monday, Feb. 26 to lead the laceName>EgglaceName> laceType>HarborlaceType> laceType>TownshiplaceType> varsity girls basketball team past visiting Toms River East 39-31 in a New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group IV South first-round playoff game.
Brittany Baum chipped in with seven points and teammates Erika Wachter and Tinysia Rassman followed with six points each.
Toms River East jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the first quarter. However, laceName>EgglaceName> laceType>HarborlaceType> laceType>TownshiplaceType> tied the game at 18 at halftime.
The Lady Eagles pulled out the win with a 13-3 domination of the game’s final eight minutes.
