Mainland bows out of girls basketball playoffs

Jen Bradway and Christine Wooding combined to score 23 points on Monday, Feb. 26, but it wasn’t enough as the Mainland Regional High School varsity girls basketball team bowed out of the NJSIAA Group IV South playoffs.

The No. 9 seed Lady Mustangs lost to No. 8 seed Southern Regional 52-46 in a New Jersey Scholastic Athletic Conference Group IV South first-round playoff game.

Mainland led by one point at halftime, 25-24, by Southern Regional pulled ahead for good during the third quarter and held a 43-36 advantage heading into the game’s final quarter.

Mainland finished at 17-10.
