Cherokee tops Egg Harbor Township

No. 2 seed Cherokee held No. 7 Egg Harbor Township to only four first-quarter points on Wednesday, Feb. 28 and went on to defeat the Lady Eagles 69-32 in a NJSIAA Group IV South second-round playoff game.

The loss eliminates Egg Harbor Township from the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association playoffs. The Lady Eagles finished at 16-11.

Cherokee held a 36-10 lead at halftime and continued to pull away after intermission.

Jamila Garrett led Egg Harbor Township with 10 points and was followed by teammate Julie Klock with eight.
