Red Bank ends season for Holy Spirit girls
Red Bank Catholic turned the game around during the second half on Saturday, March 3 and held on to defeat the Holy Spirit High School varsity girls basketball team 44-39 in a New Jersey State Scholastic Athletic Association Non-Public Group A semifinal game.
Holy Spirit had led 16-13 after the first quarter and 23-19 at halftime before Red Bank dominated the second half 25-16.
Jesse Frasier scored a game-high 13 points and teammates Teena Marsh and Chelsi Johnson each added 10 points for the Lady Spartans.
Kristina Daniella netted 23 points for Red Bank, the team’s lone player to reach double figures.
Holy Spirit, the No 3 seed, ends its season at 21-8, but lost four out of its last five games after a 17-3 start.
Red Bank, the No. 2 seed, will play No. 1 Camden Catholic in the Non-Public Group A final in Lakewood.
